South American Players are Having a Big Impact

Brazil and Argentina are often first when one thinks about players from South America playing in leagues overseas and with good reason. There are 13 players from South America that have scored this season and the overwhelming majority come from those two countries. Sergio Aguero leads players from the continent with six goals. Roberto Pereyra ($8,500) is just one behind Aguero while Richarlison ($8,000) sits on four goals. In a mostly European league, 31 goals have been scored by players from South America.

West Ham's Fabian Balbuena ($6,500) became the fifth Paraguayan player to score in the Premier League last week. West Ham's opponent, Burnley, allow the most shots per match putting Balbuena in another good spot.

Balbuena shows that there is plenty of talent outside of England and they will be discovered with proper scouting. Arsenal recently stated that they are moving away from England's young stars and focusing elsewhere. This approach would lead to more players from South American, so this could be a trend that lasts for years.
