4 FanDuel Premier League Studs to Target for Matchweek 5

Defender -- Benjamin Mendy, Manchester City

We've got some drool-worthy options at the top end of the defender pricing, and -- wouldn't ya know -- it's more City and Chelsea players.

Mendy has started the year in stellar form, registering four assists in four matches. For reference, Kyle Walker ($5,500) led Manchester City defenders in assists last season with six in 32 appearances. So, yeah, Mendy is good even though he's not going to maintain this blistering pace.

City should dominate the ball against Fulham, and that will allow Mendy to fly forward from his left-back spot, meaning he'll basically be a winger for a good chunk of the 90 minutes. He's a great stacking option with any of City's forwards and/or midfielders.

Oddly cheap again this week, the aforementioned Walker will likely be pretty popular. That coupled with Mendy's sky-high price tag could push people away from the Frenchman, making Mendy awfully appealing in GPPs if you can find the cash.

Elsewhere, Chelsea's Marcos Alonso ($7,500) is in pretty much the exact same spot as Mendy. In addition to what Alonso brings to the table going forward, he also handles some free-kick duties, boosting his floor and ceiling.
