Defender -- Benjamin Mendy, Manchester City

Price: $8,000

We need to be too careful about putting a ton of stock into three games, but so far, it looks like Mendy is going to have an every-week starting role for Manchester City. That's going to make him awfully attractive in DFS. After missing most of last year with a knee injury, Mendy's blistering pace from his left-back spot has given City something -- maybe the only thing -- it lacked last year.

Through three games, Mendy has racked up three assists and has been credited with six chances created. He's averaging 25.8 FanDuel points per game, and he scored a respectable 14.7 FanDuel points last time out in what was his only game this season without an assist, so his floor isn't too bad.

As we covered with Aguero, City are massive home favorites and should have a lot of the ball, which means Mendy will likely spend a majority of his time getting forward. He makes for a perfect stacking partner with any of City's attackers as he should send his fair share of balls into dangerous areas. On top of all that, Newcastle boast a measly 0.5-goal implied total, so Mendy has excellent clean-sheet odds.

Of course, $8,000 is a hefty price to pay for any defender, which could cap Mendy's ownership a bit, especially with fellow City full-back Kyle Walker ($5,000) available for much cheaper. Elsewhere at the top end of defender pricing, Marcos Alonso ($7,500) is a great way to get exposure to Chelsea as his free-kick duties give him immense upside.
