Questions
This is going to sound completely stupid, but...
I'm leaning to starting Jason Campbell over Cam. Hear me out though before you cast judgement.

1. I am the owner of Josh Gordon, and in my league---we get HUGE points for 40+ yd rec's and 40+ yd TD's. And when it's a 40+ yd TD, it's an 8 point bonus + the 6 for the TD + the PPR point + the yards (10 per point). That means a 40-yard strike from Campbell to Gordon against the league's most terrible secondaries (NYJ), will net me 19 for Gordon and 11+ depending on the yards from Campbell. So basically---(1) 40+ yd TD from Campbell to Gordon nets me 30 points.

2. Cam played TERRIBLY in NO. Granted it was in NO, and this is at home. NO's D isn't that tough on the road, and plus a playoff spot is on the line---so I expect Cam to do well. I'm thinking 25-30 points in my league.

3. Now---this is a calculated risk---that given the matchup---is most likely to pay out. NYJ is tough against the run, but terrible against the pass---and giving up TONS of deep pass plays, right up there with Dallas.

So---let's hear it. What do you think?

EDIT: I want to also state that I'm the underdog (by about 10)---and he has the Romo to Dez connection, which is pretty huge.

I played in a league with similar scoring last year. I had aaron Rodgers and jordy nelson and those two combined for major points quite a few times. We are talking about Jason Campbell here. I understand that Josh Gordon is a beast as I have him as well, but the likely scenario is not multiple 40+ yard TD passes. Usually if there is one at all it is only one, Gordon has had a couple games with more than one, but usually if there is one at all it is the only one. So, how many more points do you think Campbell can score not using Josh Gordon, and remember Jordon Cameron probably won't play this week so that takes his only other weapon away. So at the most you're thinking Campbell can get 20 points resulting in Gordon getting 25+. Cam is capable of delivering less than 20 points easily. At the same time, Cam is also capable of scoring you 30+. What if Cam has a 40 yard TD run, you get bonus points for the long run plus 6 points for the TD as opposed to 4, and a point every 10 yards as opposed 1 every 25 yards passing. I totally understand your thinking completely, but I still say you have to play Cam here.

It's tough for me to say one is better than the other because the scoring is somewhat unique, and I'm not accustomed to it. However, let me give you some advice that will help you make the decision. First, don't let the other team's lineup be a factor in your decision. Second, don't let the fact that you own Josh Gordon factor in your decision--it's Cam Newton vs. Jason Campbell. Now, determine floor and ceiling for each QB, project what you think they will actually score, and make the decision. Good luck!

in championships and playoffs i tend to play it safe and run with my Best available player... I feel like campbell is more of a game manager. Cam has that xfactor that can win you your championship with his rushing ability. but thats just me.

I agree. The talent is on the receiving end of the football, kind of vice-versa to Cam. They won't be able to run--AT ALL---and only because I have the Campbell/Gordon connect would I even think about starting him.
