Do you think the Knicks are a playoff team?
Assuming Chandler's knee isn't all busted up, of course.

Oh btw, i saw your tags. In regards to Kidd he is supposed to be the first PG off the cab rank, but his play in the preseason suggests to me that he might have to share that rank with Prigioni (who did an excellent job of running the team), who will eat into his minutes. Looks like Woody is going to be running some double point guard lineups this year (ooo... thats different, last year it was 0.5 point guard lineups).

They are deep (can go 11 deep), but fragile. Their go to guy is just doing it wrong (71% of his shots are jumpers 66% of which are within 15 secs of shot clock expiring, with an avg of only 39% assisted, which suggests lots of isos, and yet he averages 18% more in FGP when he is close to the basket, but only does it 26% of the time... Oh, and there is that problem of not wanting to play the 4... oh and then there is this. The Knicks are 2 points per 100 possessions better off when he is on the bench then when he is on the floor, 8% more are assisted, which indicates better ball movement, and 5% less opponent assists, which indicates better help defense) , and their go to big man has balky knees. They have no cap space and no picks in the near future. Low playoff seed at best with a first round wipe, but NY will expect bigger things, and they might go through another roster clean-out by next season looking for a clean start. They should probably look at CP3 (or even Ty Lawson the way his trade talks have gone) and Josh Smith (possibly Paul Millsap, because he definitely won't be on the Jazz roster by the next season), but Dolan will probably demand something stupid again, while keeping Melo in town. omg... what a rant...

On the upside, I love the Knicks new roster because it's heaps more interesting than your prototypical Lakers/Heat superteam, and I am looking out for two of the oldest rookies in the league (continuing a theme of oldest team in history?) GO COPES AND PRIGS, looking forward to some awesome picks and rolls to the basket. In terms of fantasy picks Felton looks like he is about 80% of what he was last time he was there (actually... a lot of the players on the roster have been there before....), Chandler probably wont miss too much time with his knee (he is a soldier) and will probably challenge for DPOY again (despite the anger of Howard), STAT is out for a couple of months, but will probably play better than last year when he is on court (familiar PnR partner in Felton and he, apparently, has, at least knowledge of, if not some semblance of a post game), whether he will be on court very much is another issue altogether (high risk/reward type pick)... Melo will always be a nice pick and is set to have a monster (albeit, a bit selfish) season after his Olympics shenanigans.

I just thought the addition of some elder statesmen in the locker room might change his perspective, but after seeing the Knicks in the pre-season... that is no guarantee.

I could see them as a 7 or 8 seed again in the East, but probably looking at another first round exit.
