Columbus Blue Jackets

Players to target: Brandon Dubinsky, Cam Atkinson, Seth Jones, and Zach Werenski

The Columbus Blue Jackets will take on a Pittsburgh Penguins team which they stomped 7-1 on December 22. While we can't expect that sort of repeat performance, we can expect a lot of goals in this game based on the over/under of 6.5.

Columbus' second line should get a bunch of opportunities to score, even going up against Sidney Crosby's line. Crosby's line is allowing 65.3 Corsi Against per 60 minutes and 13.1 Scoring Chances Against per 60 minutes. A line with Cam Atkinson, who leads the Jackets with 166 shots on goal, should generate plenty of shots in an expected high paced game. Dubinsky, Atkinson, and Boone Jenner have posted 60.5 Corsi For per 60 minutes and 9.8 Scoring Chances For per 60 minutes.

This is an unconventional stack in that we have the first pairing defense stack for Columbus, but it is highly correlated. Dubinsky and Atkinson play on different power play units while Jones and Werenski both quarterback a separate power play unit while also playing 20-plus minutes together at even-strength.

This type of stack is a way to be both contrarian and smart because we know Columbus' top two lines will be popular, but this stack will differentiate your lineup from the rest of the field.
