Ben Roethlisberger officially inactive for Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (knee) is officially inactive for Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

What It Means:

This was confirmed by Steelers' head coach Mike Tomlin. Third-string quarterback Landry Jones will start, with Tyler Murphy serving as Jones' backup; Michael Vick is also inactive with a hamstring injury sustained in Week 6. Roethlisberger was a true game-time decision, so indications are that he is likely to return in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

On his 12 drop backs in Week 6, Landry Jones achieved a 12.95 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) score - 1.08 Passing NEP per-play. He will be a massive upgrade over Vick, whose -0.26 Passing NEP per-play ranks last among quarterbacks with more than 50 drop backs in 2015.
