Dolphins fire defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle
The Miami Dolphins have fired defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle.
The team fired head coach Joe Philbin earlier in the week, though there were rumors that Coyle may go even before that. Lou Anarumo will take over the helm as defensive coordinator on an interim basis.
The Dolphins entered their bye week ranked 27th in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points (NEP) per play. They have been especially bad against the pass, sitting 31st in Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per play. The team brought in Ndamukong Suh to help the rush defense, yet they are still only 18th in Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP per play. The team has Week 5 off, but they will go up against the Tennessee Titans in Week 6.
