Jaguars release Calvin Pryor

The Jacksonville Jaguars have released safety Calvin Pryor, per an announcement from the team's official Twitter account.

What It Means:

In promoting rookie defensive end Carroll Phillips to the 53-man roster, the Jaguars were forced to cut ties with the 25-year-old veteran. Pryor had missed 10 weeks with an ankle injury and had only played two games and 28 snaps before his release.

In 2016-17, Pryor started 15 games for the New York Jets. He has 129 tackles, 14 passes defensed and 2 interceptions through 46 career games.
