49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo expected to remain backup in Week 10
San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan plans for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to remain the team's backup as C.J. Beatheard starts this week against the New York Giants.
Shanahan said that Garoppolo is further along than he expected and even left the door open for a change of heart. For now, though, he is committed to C.J. Beatheard as the team's starter under center.
Garoppolo threw for 502 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2 starts and 6 appearances a year ago. He costs $6,000 on this week's slate over at FanDuel.
