Trevor Siemian benched by Broncos
Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian has been demoted to backup duties, head coach Vance Joseph announced.
Brock Osweiler will make his first start of the season for the Broncos in Week 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles. After a hot two-game start, Siemian completely bottomed out over Denver's next five games, sealing his fate with an atrocious, 3-interception performance on Monday Night Football in Week 8. The 2015 seventh-round pick likely doesn't have much of a future as a starter in the NFL.
Siemian averaged 14.8 FanDuel points per game this season while completing 152-of-247 passes for 1,669 yards with 9 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Among the 29 quarterbacks with at least 200 dropbacks, his -0.08 Passing Net Expected Points per dropback rank fourth-worst.
