Cardinals' Bruce Arians: Thanksgiving 'earliest' David Johnson (wrist) could return

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said in an interview that running back David Johnson could return by Thanksgiving, at the "earliest."

What It Means:

Johnson, who is recovering from wrist surgery back in mid-September, recently said that he got his cast and is "feeling good." He also noted that he's without a timetable. Given a recovery time of 2-to-3 months, Johnson could return in early November, but the Cardinals are probably going to play it safe with their star playmaker. For him to return by Thanksgiving would probably be the best-case scenario, but don't bet on him being available for Week 12. As he continues to work his way back, Adrian Peterson and Andre Ellington will handle the rushing duties in Arizona.

Before going down in Week 1, Johnson tallied 91 yards on 11 rushes and 6 catches. We project him for 664.9 total yards and 3.8 touchdowns the rest of the year, assuming an optimistic Week 12 return.
