Patriots' Mike Gillislee: 'I wouldn't compare myself to Blount'

New England Patriots running back Mike Gillislee was not willing to compare himself to former Patriots back LeGarrette Blount in a recent interview.

What It Means:

When asked if he thinks of himself as a replacement for the departed Blount and his production, Gillislee said that Blount is "a great running back" and that, in reference to himself, "[he's] Mike Gillislee." He also responded by saying that he's "going to make the best of the opportunity" whenever called upon. The first-year Patriot figures to get early-down looks alongside Rex Burkhead in New England. And for what it's worth, he's projected for 142.3 rushes and 5.78 rushing touchdowns on the season.

Against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night, our algorithms have him down for 8.2 rushes, 40.6 yards and 0.29 touchdowns in a crowded Patriots' backfield. So, at $6.400, it's no surprise to see him projected for just 7.9 FanDuel points in Week 1.
