Mark Ingram very active in Saints' passing game

New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram has been very active in the passing game throughout camp, per ESPN's Mike Triplett.

What It Means:

Ingram appears to be taking on a role similar to the one Pierre Thomas occupied not long ago. While Adrian Peterson serves as a rush-first back, Ingram should get the most snaps in the New Orleans backfield. Ingram's uptick in the passing game looks like trouble for rookie Alvin Kamara.

In 2017, numberFire's models project Ingram for 39 catches, 341 receiving yards and 1.7 receiving scores in addition to 797 yards and 6.0 touchdowns on the ground.
