Saints view Alvin Kamara in same light as Reggie Bush, Darren Sproles
New Orleans Saints third-round running back Alvin Kamara is expected to play a "Reggie Bush/Darren Sproles-type role" behind Mark Ingram and Adrian Peterson, believes Larry Holder of The Times-Picayune.
Bush saw 117 touches in 14 games in 2009 and Darren Sproles tallied 173 of his own during the 2011 season when each player was in a similar role as the third option in New Orleans' backfield. Holder referenced those seasons when discussing how things could be split up in 2017. Ingram and Peterson will carry the mail on early downs, but Kamara shouldn't have any problem exceeding 100 touches as a rookie.
Kamara recorded just 210 carries for 1,294 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns at Tennessee but snagged 74 catches for 683 yards and 7 touchdowns in his two seasons.
