Cardinals bring in T.J. Logan at 179th pick for backfield depth
The Arizona Cardinals selected North Carolina running back T.J. Logan with the 179th overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
5'9", 196 pound Logan was a committee back and special teams ace all four years at North Carolina. Logan confirmed his long speed at the Combine with a 4.37 forty, although the rest of his workouts were sub-par. A change-up back with return value, Logan projects as a low-ceiling niche player.
Logan racked up a career 2,165 rushing yards on 398 carries (5.4 yards per carry), with 19 touchdowns, 76 receptions, and a 27.2-yard kickoff return average with five scores on kicks. Pro Football Focus charged Logan with only one dropped pass over his final three seasons. He'll replace Andre Ellington in the backfield, with Ellington's switch to receiver.
