Jonnu Smith enters Titans' fold at 100th overall
The Tennessee Titans selected Florida International Panthers tight end Jonnu Smith with the 100th overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft.
Smith started for four years for the Panthers, setting several school records along the way. The 6'3", 248-pound tight end lit up the Combine, running 4.62 with an explosive 38" vertical and 10'7" broad jumps. Smith shows a tendency to body catch and is facing a significant jump in competition, but he was a better blocker than expected on college film.
Smith will enter the NFL with 2,001 receiving yards on 178 catches (11.2 yards per reception) and 18 touchdowns. Delanie Walker led the Titans' tight end group last year, his 0.72 Reception Net Expected Points per target the 14th-most among 43 tight ends to top 30 targets last year.
