New England putting hefty asking price on Jimmy Garoppolo
The New England Patriots are seeking two first-round picks in exchange for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
The Patriots were previously asking for a first- and second-rounder, according to the Boston Herald, but Garafolo says "someone somewhat connected to the situation" leads him to believe the actual cost will be a first in 2017 and another in 2017. A trade seems doubtful at this point.
If Garoppolo had qualified, his 0.44 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back would have ranked first among all quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs in 2016.
