Trevor Siemian's 2017 starting job with Broncos not guaranteed
The Denver Broncos are "open to anything" in regards to adding a veteran quarterback, general manager John Elway said.
"This is the time of year that you look at everything," Elway said. "We discuss everything, every possibility." One of the most interesting possibilities is soon-to-be-former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who the Broncos are reportedly "clearly in the driver's seat" for. Even though new head coach Vance Joseph said he is committed to a competition between Trevor Siemian and 2016 first-rounder Paxton Lynch and Elway said he is "happy with" the pair, it seems likely the Broncos at least make a push to add a quarterback.
Siemian came in 26th in Passing Net Expected Points per drop back among the 39 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs in 2016.
