Chiefs release Jamaal Charles
The Kansas City Chiefs cut running back Jamaal Charles.
The Chiefs clear out $6.2 million in cap space with the move. It doesn't come as much surprise after the 30-year-old Charles has played in a total of eight games over the past two seasons, seeing only 83 carries since the end of the 2014 campaign. The Philadelphia Eagles have been mentioned as a potential destination for Charles, but his NFL future isn't looking very bright.
Charles has attempted just 83 rushing attempts over the last two years, but has earned 0.08 Rushing NEP per carry over that span of time. That would have ranked in the top-10 last season among the 54 running backs to see 80 or more carries.
