Bears won't be bringing Jay Cutler back next season
The Chicago Bears will be "moving on" from quarterback Jay Cutler, according to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora.
Cutler was never going to be back with the Bears next season, and he's more likely to be released than traded. The ineffective and inconsistent, oft-injured quarterback will be 34 by the start of next season, but perhaps a change of scenery will be good for both sides. Jimmy Garoppolo is reportedly at the top of the Bears' priority list.
Out of the 39 quarterbacks with 100 or more dropbacks this season, Cutler had the fourth-lowest Passing Net Expected Points per dropback.
