Cardinals' David Johnson has no ligament damage in initial tests

Initial tests on Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson's injured left knee showed meniscus damage, though his ACL remains intact, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

What It Means:

It's shockingly good news for Johnson, who was carted off after a defender landed awkwardly on his left knee. We won't know Johnson's exact diagnosis until he undergoes his MRI, which is scheduled for Monday. Meniscus injuries are still significant but if that's all it is, Johnson would have a good chance to be ready by the start of training camp.

Johnson earned -1.98 Net Expected Points on his five rushing attempts prior to the injury in Week 17, per numberFire Live.
