Jets claim Troymaine Pope off waivers

The New York Jets claimed running back Troymaine Pope off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks, and waived/injured Khiry Robinson (leg) in a corresponding move.

What It Means:

Robinson reportedly re-injured the broken leg which he suffered last November, so Matt Forte's hold on the short-yardage work appears much more secure. Troymaine Pope, who had an impressive preseason with the Seahawks, is now the team's third back. The Jets have a lot of running back depth, but none of it is young. Pope is definitely a file-away name in Dynasty leagues.

Pope had a highly impressive preseason in Seattle, rushing 24 times for 162 yards (6.8 yards per carry).
