Titans release draft busts Bishop Sankey and Justin Hunter

The Tennessee Titans have waived running back Bishop Sankey and wide receiver Justin Hunter.

What It Means:

Hunter and Sankey, the Titans' second round picks in 2013 and 2014 respectively, both fizzled out without making much of an impact for the Titans, and it's hard to classify either as anything other than a draft bust.

In 200 career rushing attempts, Sankey has accrued -14.59 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) for -0.07 Rushing NEP per attempt. On 47 targets, he has 15.16 Reception NEP (0.32 Reception NEP per target). He wasn't expected to have any impact this year, and his release is unlikely to affect our projections for the Titans' backfield.
