Washington confident rookie Josh Doctson (Achilles') will be ready Week 1
Washington head coach Jay Gruden has "total expectation" that first-round wide receiver Josh Doctson (Achilles') will be ready for Week 1.
"He did the route tree today, which is very positive," Gruden stated Tuesday. "I have total expectation that he’s going to be ready Week 1, possibly the fourth preseason game, but we’ll still see. Like I said, it’s a new injury to me." Gruden also didn't rule out the possibility of the reserve/PUP list for Doctson, so this doesn't really move the needle one way or another in regards to the rookie's status for Week 1. Washington kicks off the season in 20 days versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Our algorithms currently project Doctson for 475 receiving yards and 2.50 touchdowns on 39 catches in 2016, good for the 79th-highest projection among fantasy wideouts this season.
