Jaguars' Allen Hurns to play in the slot more

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Allen Hurns will see snaps in the slot this season, wide receivers coach Jerry Sullivan said.

What It Means:

"He’ll play inside some," Sullivan said. "He’s got a good feel in there for a guy who’s been outside a lot." Hurns ran almost 40 percent of his routes inside last season, so he should be comfortable with the position. This could create an opportunity for outside-only backup Marqise Lee to get in the lineup over Rashad Greene, the incumbent primary slot receiver. If Lee lives up to his draft pedigree and promise, the Jaguars could shake things up and create a more dynamic lineup by moving Hurns inside.

Wherever he's playing, we like Hurns' production probability in 2016. Our algorithms project him for 62 receptions for 976 yards and 7 touchdowns. He's our 30th-best wide receiver for fantasy purposes going into training camp.
