Jaguars' Blake Bortles seeks offseason advice from NFL veterans

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles sought advice from NFL veterans Aaron Rodgers and Carson Palmer this offseason.

What It Means:

Bortles sought the advice of two of the game's best passers to help him build on his 2015 successes and fix his early-career flaws. "Aaron was awesome," said Bortles. "One of the things he said was, ‘Don’t try and score 21 points every time you have the ball.’" Palmer gave similar advice, imploring Bortles to "build chemistry and rapport" with his teammates.

Bortles led the league with 18 interceptions last year while completing just 58.6 percent of his passes. Our algorithms don't foresee much of a step forward, however; we project him to complete just 58.4 percent of his 598 passing attempts, for 3,890 yards, 32.0 touchdowns, and 19.1 interceptions. He should also add 49 rushes for 242 yards and 2.1 scores on the ground.
