Pete Carroll suggests Thomas Rawls still Seahawks' lead back
Seattle Seahawks running back Thomas Rawls (ankle) is still the team's lead back, Seattle coach Pete Carroll suggested.
The Seahawks selected three running backs in the draft, but Carroll said Rawls represents "who we are and what we’re about." Undrafted out of Central Michigan, Rawls rushed for 830 yards and four touchdowns before fracturing his ankle in December. The ankle injury is likely a bigger concern than the draft picks considering how vague Seattle has been about his recovery. Rawls should still be projected as Seattle's starter, if he is healthy.
Rawls flashed massive upside as a rookie. Among backs with at least 100 attempts, he ranked second in Rushing Net Expected Points per play.
