Jags sign tight end Evan Engram to one-year deal
The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed tight end Evan Engram to a one-year, fully-guaranteed $9 million contract, per Adam Schefter.
Schefter added that the deal has incentives that could earn Engram another million dollars, as well. Engram entered the league with a record-setting rookie season as a pass-catcher, but fell out of favor in New York over the past few seasons due to health, situation, and some high-profile drops. He'll get a chance at a fresh start with quarterback Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville in 2022.
Engram averaged over 50 receiving yards per game in each of his first two seasons in the league, but was a notably bad fit for offensive coordinator Jason Garrett's scheme over the past two seasons. Jacksonville's upgraded pass-catching group could be a huge deal for Lawrence in year two.
