49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo (thumb) not practicing Monday
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was held out of the team's practice Monday with a right thumb injury.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that the veteran quarterback suffered the injury during their Week 16 loss to the Tennessee Titans, and that they would re-evaluate his thumb for Wednesday's practice. If Garoppolo misses any time, 2021 first-round pick Trey Lance would be set to make his second start of the season.
Garoppolo played some shaky football last Thursday, completing 26 of 35 attempts for 322 yards and a score while throwing 2 poor interceptions and taking 2 sacks for 16 yards. If Lance were to start in Week 17, he would be a locked-in QB1 for fantasy due to his rushing upside.
