Trevor Siemian expected to start Week 9 for Saints versus Falcons

New Orleans Saints quarterback Trevor Siemian is expected to start Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

What It Means:

Siemian performed well in relief of Jameis Winston last week and it appears to have earned him his first start since 2019 when he was with the New York Jets. Taysom Hill is expected to return from a concussion and will likely mix in a bit as well. Siemian is averaging just 6.7 yards per attempt and 208.9 yards per game for his career, but if owners are in a bind, the Falcons' secondary is one of the worst in the league this season.

The Falcons are allowing the sixth-most FanDuel points per game to the quarterback position this season and the third-most Adjusted Passing Net Expected Points per play. Siemian has a $7,000 salary on FanDuel in Week 9.
