Panthers to trade Dan Arnold to Jaguars
The Carolina Panthers are set to trade tight end Dan Arnold and a third-round pick for Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback C.J. Henderson.
Henderson had trouble catching on in Jacksonville in his short tenure with the team, but will now get a chance to grow with a budding Panthers defense. Arnold, who signed with the Panthers in free agency, could find himself in a starting role with the Jaguars as early as Thursday night (if the deal processes in time), as the Jags are down starting tight end James O'Shaughnessy.
Arnold has been a part of the Panthers' rotation of pass-catchers for the first three weeks of the season, catching 7 balls for 84 yards while splitting time with rookie Tommy Tremble. With O'Shaughnessy sidelined, Arnold could become the top pass-catching tight end for the Jags in the near future, a role that led O'Shaughnessy to a 6-catch, 48-yard performance in Week 1.
