James Laurinaitis to visit Falcons on Monday
Free agent middle linebacker James Laurinaitis will visit the Atlanta Falcons on Monday and Tuesday.
The former Los Angeles Rams player met with the New Orleans Saints last week. The Falcons need to upgrade on incumbent Paul Worrilow, who is a restricted free agent. Laurinaitis was overpaid and just plain bad last season, but he's still a big name and could benefit from a change of scenery after seven years in St. Louis.
The 29-year-old has recorded at least 100 tackles every season since debuting in 2009. He's never missed a game in his career. The Rams had one of the league's best defenses with him in the fold in 2015, ranking eighth in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play.
