Ronald Jones regresses in Buccaneers loss

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones rushed 10 times for 24 yards in a 27-24, Week 11 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night.

What It Means:

Jones followed up last week's season-best showing with his lowest yards-per-carry average (2.4) of the season. He out-carried Leonard Fournette 10-7 but was out-targeted 4-1 and out-snapped 36-25. Fournette was also given the rock near the goal line and he converted with a two-yard touchdown. Jones has been held under 35 rushing yards four times in the past five games and he's only been targeted a total of three times in the past two. Expect another two-man backfield featuring Jones and Fournette in Week 12 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are allowing the sixth-most rushing yards per game to the running back position this season.

Jones scored a season-low 2.4 FanDuel points on Monday night. He has failed to score 5.0 FanDuel points three times in the last four games. However, Jones remains the more efficient runner (14th in Rushing Net Expected Points per carry among 60 running backs with at least 50 carries) for the season over Fournette (28th). Our models project Jones for 17.2 touches and 11.4 FanDuel points in Week 12.
