Tony Pollard (ankle) cleared for Cowboys camp
Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard (ankle) is fully cleared for the start of training camp.
Pollard suffered a broken fibula and high-ankle sprain in the playoffs, but he had a clean recovery and is expected to handle a heavy workload for the Cowboys in 2023. Last season, Pollard rushed 193 times for 1,007 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns while sharing work with Ezekiel Elliott. He also turned 55 targets into 39 receptions for 371 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Pollard is the RB6 in numberFire's preseason rankings and our models project him for 275.2 carries, 1,326.0 rushing yards, 50.3 catches (68.1 targets), 416.2 receiving yards, and 12.52 total touchdowns. Among the 45 running backs with at least 100 carries last season, Pollard averaged the sixth-most Rushing Net Expected Points per carry. He also averaged 13.6 FanDuel points over 16 games, including 23.1 from Weeks 8-14.
