Rams starting season with three-back rotation
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay confirmed he plans to use a three-back committee in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys.
McVay is "optimistic" that Darrell Henderson will be able to play through his hamstring issue, setting up a three-back rotation of Cam Akers, Henderson, and Malcolm Brown. “I think as the season unfolds, that might give us some clarity if someone separates,” McVay said. “But we’re going to go into it with three different backs that present a change of pace and different dynamic to defenses.” Brown is listed first on the depth chart to start the season but Akers is expected to eventually emerge as the Rams' lead back as a rookie.
Akers costs $5,800 and is the RB23 in numberFire's Week 1 fantasy rankings. Our models expect him to lead the Rams' backfield with 13.4 touches for 61.4 yards against the Cowboys. Henderson ($5,200) is the RB59 and Brown ($5,000) is the RB68.
