Jordan Howard

Jordan Howard expected to take Dolphins' goal-line work

Miami Dolphins running back Jordan Howard is the favorite for goal-line work this season, writes Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post.

What It Means:

Schad believes Howard and fellow newcomer Matt Breida will share carries, with the former providing power and the latter supplying speed. Howard signed a two-year contract with the Dolphins earlier this offseason after a one-year stint with the Philadelphia Eagles. He averaged 52.5 rushing yards on a career-low 11.9 carries over nine games and totaled 7 touchdowns before going down with a shoulder injury. Howard will likely see the bulk of early-down work for Miami and Breida will take the lead on passing downs.

numberFire's models expect Howard to out-carry Breida 156.8 to 126.4 this season. He's projected for 655.4 rushing yards, 121.8 receiving yards, 16.5 receptions (23.3 targets), and 5.9 touchdowns. Howard is the RB38 in our preseason fantasy rankings.
