Seahawks sign receiver Freddie Swain to rookie deal
The Seattle Seahawks have signed wide receiver Freddie Swain to his rookie contract.
The Seahawks selected Swain in the sixth round of this year's NFL Draft. D.K. Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Phillip Dorsett will likely be the teams top three wideouts for the 2020 season, but the team doesn't have much real depth behind them. Swain will have to compete with David Moore and John Ursua for a spot as the season approaches.
Swain was never dominant at Florida, but he was very involved in the punt return game, where he finished his collegiate career with 39 returns for 308 yards and a score. He offers solid athleticism as well, but will still face an uphill battle for opportunities on the run-heavy Seahawks.
