Steelers ink Eric Ebron to 2-year, $12 million contract
Free agent tight end Eric Ebron has a new home, as he's signed a two-year contract worth $12 million, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
This is Ebron's third home in the league, heading to the Steel City after stops in Indianapolis and Detroit. He's coming off a season in which he played a career-low 11 games, which led to his worst output since his rookie season in 2014. The 26-year-old pass catcher hauled in 31 balls for 375 yards with three touchdowns in 2019.
Ebron broke out for a career year in 2018, lining up next to Andrew Luck and making the most of his All-Pro talent. But with injuries and the downgrade to Jacoby Brissett last season, the opportunities just weren't there. Among those with at least 26 targets, Ebron rated as the No. 17 tight end in the league per Pro Football Focus, earning an overall grade of 71.1.
