Mitchell Trubisky salvages line in garbage time of Bears' loss
Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky completed 34-of-54 passes for 251 yards with 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions in a 36-25, Week 7 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
Trubisky's 4.6 yards per attempt are much more indicative of his abysmal performance than the final numbers suggest. He was objectively terrible all afternoon before managing a couple scoring drives in garbage time after the game had already been decided. This was the third-year quarterback's only game with more than 231 passing yards this season. Other than 3 touchdowns against the Washington Redskins in Week 3, Trubisky has thrown just 2 TD passes over four games. His career-low 5.2 yards per pass attempt is tied with Josh Rosen for worst in the NFL among all quarterbacks with at least two starts this season. The Bears will host the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 8.
Mitchell scored 20.0 FanDuel points in Week 7. He's completed 64.4 percent of his passes for 839 yards with 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in five games this season.
