Jaguars add Jonas Gray with T.J. Yeldon (sprained knee) hurting

Running back Jonas Gray has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars after being on the Miami Dolphins' practice squad.

What It Means:

While we still haven't received a timetable regarding Yeldon's (sprained knee) status, this signing leads us to believe he will be sidelined for at least Week 15. Denard Robinson should serve as the every-down back until Yeldon is able to return. Robinson is undoubtedly the top waiver wire add of the week and should be a second-tier running back against the Atlanta Falcons for the second round of the fantasy playoffs. Gray really just helps provide depth and is unlikely to make a blip on the fantasy radar.

Robinson finished Week 14 with 1.37 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) as he turned 14 touches into 75 yards and a touchdown. Among Jaguars' running backs this season, Robinson has the most Rushing NEP per carry. Jonas Gray finished with the third-ranked per-play Rushing Net Expected Points score from the 2014 season, but it was almost entirely the result of a 201-yard, four-touchdown performance he had against the Indianapolis Colts while playing for the New England Patriots.
