Harrison Smith inactive for Vikings Sunday
Minnesota Vikings safety Harrison Smith is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons, according to Ben Goessling of ESPN.
Smith was ruled out Saturday, but this makes it official. Smith suffered an injury in Week 11 against the Green Bay Packers, but he was able to return to the game. Given Smith's value, this will have a profound impact on the Vikings' defense.
Smith being out is big news for the Falcons' Julio Jones and Tevin Coleman. The Vikings entered the week ranked 13th in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play and 18th in Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP per play. With Smith out, both of those marks figure to take a hit. Coleman and Jones possess heavy upside in Week 12.
