Brandon Goodwin dominates as Florida Gulf Coast inches closer to an auto-bid
Florida Gulf Coast Eagles junior guard Brandon Goodwin scored a game-high 28 points with two rebounds, two assists, and three steals in Thursday's Atlantic Sun semifinal win over the Kennesaw State Owls.
Goodwin was on fire, hitting 11-of-17 field goal attempts including two three-pointers as he scored 24 or more points for the fourth time in his last six games. The sophomore leads the Eagles in scoring with 18.2 points per game.
FGCU will now play the North Florida Ospreys in the conference final on Sunday, where they are heavy favorites to return to the field of 68 for the second year in a row. Our models currently project them as a 15 seed.
