Pitt's Jamel Artis suspended for Friday's game
Pittsburgh Panthers' senior forward Jamel Artis has been suspended for Friday's game versus the Duquesne Dukes.
The university released a statement saying Artis "failed to uphold the standards of a University of Pittsburgh basketball player." The Panthers face a tough task without their second-leading scorer, but the suspension appears to be for only one game. Artis should be back for the team's next game December 7 versus the Buffalo Bulls.
Artis has seen his numbers tick up every season as he is averaging 19.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in seven games so far this season.
