Knicks' Ron Baker exercises player option for 2018-19 season
Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania reports New York Knicks guard Ron Baker has exercised his $4.5 million player option for the 2018-19 season.
What It Means:
With the only alternative to hit free agency, Baker made the easy, smart move here as he wouldn't have commanded anything more than this on the market. The 25-year-old is recovering from shoulder stabilization surgery, but he's expected to be back in time for training camp.
In 29 games, Baker made 1 start and averaged 2.4 points in 13.3 minutes per game this season.
