Raptors' Lucas Nogueira tears up Blazers with big two-way performance
Toronto Raptors center Lucas Nogueira exploded for a career-high 17 points as the starting center in Monday's 99-85 win over the Portland Blazers, adding 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 5 blocks.
Nogueira was unstoppable on offense, shooting 7-for-8 from the floor and he missed more free throws than he did field goal attempts on Monday. His 5 blocks were a career-high and with the injury to Jonas Valanciunas, Nogueira will continue getting big minutes for the Raptors while Valanciunas is out.
Our early models project Nogueira for only 18.4 minutes on Wednesday against the Denver Nuggets, but if Valanciunas is ruled out again, look for that projection to increase significantly.
