Spurs' David Lee doesn't need surgery
San Antonio Spurs forward/center David Lee (left knee) doesn't need surgery on his partially torn patellar tendon.
This is definitely the best news that Lee could have hoped for, because he is expected to miss only six weeks with the injury. Lee is entering a year where he can opt out and become a free agent and it appears he will be more likely to do that with the news that his knee injury isn't as serious as originally thought.
Lee finished the season averaging 7.3 points and 5.6 rebounds over 18.7 minutes per game. He owned a .590 effective field goal percentage and his nERD of 5.4 ranked him 41st among all players this season.
