Kings' Rudy Gay may have suffered a torn Achilles

Sacramento Kings forward Rudy Gay may have suffered a torn left Achilles on Wednesday, according to preliminary tests.

What It Means:

He will undergo an MRI on Thursday, and if it is indeed a torn Achilles, that will likely end Gay's season. Look for Garrett Temple, Matt Barnes and Anthony Tolliver to all see increased minutes in Gay's absence.

Gay has been having a solid season, and his .559 true shooting percentage, 10.9 percent total rebound rate, 14.2 percent assist rate and 18.2 player efficiency rating are all improvements over the numbers he posted last year, though his -0.2 nERD only ranks 210th in the NBA.
