Will Barton scores 17 points in his return for Denver

Denver Nuggets guard/forward Will Barton hit the ground running in his return to the starting lineup on Friday, scoring 17 points with seven rebounds, five assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes.

What It Means:

Barton said he didn't want to return from his ankle injury until he was 100 percent and it appears he is back to strength after his strong performance. The Nuggets play a back to back on Saturday though, so it remains to be seen whether Barton will play on no rest after his long layoff.

Over seven games this season, Barton is having a strong year so far, averaging 12.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists over 28.9 minutes per game. He owns only a .434 effective field goal percentage though.
