Dewayne Dedmon swats four in 24 minutes off Spurs' bench

San Antonio Spurs center Dewayne Dedmon was terrific against the Sacramento Kings in 24 minutes on Thursday, scoring 12 points with seven rebounds and four blocks.

What It Means:

Both Pau Gasol and LaMarcus Aldridge played pretty poorly and Dedmon outplayed both. Gasol only played 21 minutes and after an impressive opening game too, Dedmon is quickly finding more rotation minutes in San Antonio. Gregg Popovich is not going to stand for Gasol's defensive lapses, so Dedmon could continue to find big minutes at center off the bench.

In two games this season Dedmon has a .600 effective field goal percentage and he currently leads the league in blocks (6) and block rate at 13.8 in just 20.5 minutes per game.
